COURSE
Learn advanced skippering techniques for yachtsmen and women. With considerable knowledge of sailing and navigation, wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. RYA Coastal skipper Practical Course is the follow on course from the RYA Day Skipper Practical Course.
Like the RYA Day Skipper Practical course. This course consists of skippered passages in a variety of situations. Each trainee will skipper more challenging passages and learn more about passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling, safety and emergency situations.
It is a satisfying and intensive week, with candidates often working towards a ICC – International Certificate of Competence.
LOCATION
During the course you will visit some some if the 1000 islands in Croatia that will include the islands of Brac, Solta, Hvar and Vis all weather dependent, but expect to have an enjoyable training holiday.
PREREQUISITES
We strongly advise completing the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster™ Offshore Theory Course This can also be completed with one of our Online Theory courses and should be completed beforehand as there is insufficient time to teach the theory required during a practical 5 day course. In addition the participant should have completed:
– 300 miles on a yacht
– 2 days as a skipper
– 15 days onboard
– 8 night hours

AFTER THE COURSE
You will be able to skipper a yacht on coastal passages by day and night. After the Dayskipper course you can start making miles on yourself, or continue your training to obtain the Yachtmaster certificate
